Children's Health

Potatoes are packed full of lots of important vitamins and minerals. Potatoes are a great low fat energy source for
growing children. The picture shows some of the great things that are in a potato:

My child does a lot of sport, will potatoes help?

Absolutely! Carbohydrate energy from potatoes will refuel hard working muscles to help them recover and keep going.

Are potatoes fattening?

No. Potatoes are low in fat and packed full of vitamins and minerals.

What about chips and crisps?

These are made from real potato, so while higher in fat they will still provide some of your daily nutrients. Like any food these can be enjoyed in moderation as part of a healthy balanced diet.
